Welcome to Flying Pig Backpackers Hostel, a place that was born from a simple idea: travel should be about connection, comfort, and authentic experiences, without breaking the bank.
We started as travellers ourselves, and we know what it's like to search for that perfect place – somewhere you can truly relax after a day of adventure, but also somewhere you can meet like-minded souls. We felt Rotorua, with its incredible energy and landscape, deserved a backpacker hostel that offered both modern comfort and a genuine, welcoming heart.
So, we embarked on a mission to create it. We completely transformed this property, pouring our passion into every new mattress, every modern bathroom, and every bright, fresh room. But we didn't stop there. We designed the communal spaces – the BBQs, the multiple kitchens, the cozy lounges – with one goal in mind: to bring people together.
